Get Dressed – Rock your tutu

Over the years many famous rockers, such as Courtney Love, Kelly Osbourne, Florence Welch and Blondie (below) have sported tutus, using a lady-like skirt to prettify their otherwise heavy-rock look.

Team your black, white or pink tutu with black leather, denim and oversize band t-shirts to create a modern rock-chick look:

Tuesday Shoesday – The Shoe Box

When one of my friends got in touch with me with a suggestion for Tuesday Shoesday I was suddenly very excited and desperate to get involved, and I’m now going to share the information with you too…

“Have you ever bought a pair of shoes and thought how great they were and fancied sharing them with the world? Well, now you can on The Shoe Box!”

There is a new feature being launched on MSN Life & Style where you can upload photos of your gorgeous shoes (with a few words about why they are your favourite shoes & where you got them from) and pretty soon you’ll be making everyone jealous of your beautiful footwear!

If you want to show off your shoes in The Shoe Box on MSN, upload your pictures here: PostboxMSNShoeBox

And here’s the photo of my favourite red patent wedge heels that I’m about to add to The Shoe Box right now! Thanks for telling me about this Jenna! And get your shoes on there too!

Tuesday Shoesday – Bling Bling!

More tuesday shoesday fun from Kelly Osbourne this week – quickly becoming a regular star of my Shoeday posts!

Not only is Kelly wearing the most blinging shoes in the world to the 2011 Grammys, she is also sporting a tutu-esque dress so scores Cassiefairy cool-points on both counts!

One of my favourite blogs The Bride Fairy  has inspired this week’s Tuesday Shoesday with her love of crystal-encrusted shoes – and she offers a customising service for brides everywhere – just send in your bridal shoes and she’ll do the rest. Even though I’m already married, I could do with a pair of these in my life anyway!

Here’s my versions of both Kelly Osbourne’s shoes from ASOS and her tutu (from, where else?!)

Also look at my Twitter friend’s beautiful Swarovski crystal custom-made shoes that I absolutely LOVE! (Actually, I wouldn’t be at all surprised if Kelly Osbourne’s shoes had been bespoke-made by BluberryIce themselves!)

Follow them on Twitter @bluberryiceltd and check out their glamourous website whilst I continue to covet their sparkly nude court shoes!

Tuesday Shoesday – Ruby slippers

In the spotlight this Tuesday Shoesday are lipstick-pillar-box-dorothy-scarlet-red shoes of all shapes and finishes. Rihanna is a massive fan of all things red (such as her recent hair colour!) and she is regularly spotted sporting bright red heels. Just check out her homage to the famous Dorothy ruby slippers from the Wizard of Oz below!

Other die-hard fans of bright cherry red shoes are Kelly Osbourne (photographed here in a pair of glittery court shoes) and Lily Allen in chunky red suede peeptoes.

Even Jennifer Garner’s daughter Violet Affleck is wearing her sparkly ruby pumps as she skips down her yellow brick road! Here’s the original ruby slippers from the film and some similar kiddies shoes from

I think that red shoes, especially when teamed with a casual outfit, make a real style statement and are definitely not for shy-retiring-wallflower types. Personally, I really love all things red and would wear any of these shoes anyday! And when I attended a wedding last weekend, guess what shoes I wore? …Patent red wedges! To be honest, they were quite painful but fun!

Lookey-likey versions of Rihanna’s patent shoes from Next and her satin heels from New Look. Plus Kelly Osbourne’s sparkly dorothy shoes from ASOS and Lily’s Suede courts from Marks & Spencer.
